Vehicle or Project Description
Chassis CB73392 is a Glacier Blue 850iA originally owned by former PGA Pro Mark Calcavecchia. He commissioned the Dinan conversion which consisted of the Stage II twin-turbo package, Stage III performance suspension package and wheel and tire package at a cost of over $25,000 in the early 90’s. The car was later sold through a broker in South Carolina and shipped up to New Jersey where it has resided for the last 10+ years.
While it has racked up fewer than 1,000 miles in that time, it has been driven in excess of 135mph on Pocono6 Raceway (in the rain unfortunately) and featured in multiple events including the Greenwich Concours D’Elegance (Best in class), East Coast Concours, Bimmerfest East (1st in class), Import Nationals (2nd in class), Patroon Concours (1st in class), Scarsdale Concours and many other local shows and meets.
The Dinan 8 is a twin turbo, dual inter-cooled system that continues to utilize the 850i’s twin engine management systems. The engine management system consists of high flow injectors, Dinan’s Turbotronics 5 (digital manifold pressure sensor) and new software to optimize fuel delivery and spark advance. It allows the stock 9.0 to 1 compression M70 V12 to run up to 10psi of boost.
The Stage II package adds a Dinan designed exhaust system to reduce back pressure, extrude honed intake manifolds and various drivetrain component including high stall torque converter and shift kit for cars equipped with automatic transmissions.

This BMW's exterior is finished in Glacier Blue (Gletscherblau - 280). Only 265 were sold with this color worldwide with only 67 of them coming to North America.
